The all-on-four concept was developed by Dr. Paulo Malo of Portugal in an effort to provide fully edentulous patients with the benefits of a fixed, full arch prosthesis at reasonable cost, without having to undergo additional grafting procedures. The introduction of 3-dimensional CT surgical planning software makes this approach even more valuable as now we can plan for best implant placement without additional grafting procedures, and fabricate the prosthesis prior to implant placement. When you arrive for implant installation, we insert the implants and the prosthesis within a very short period of time, usually less than one hour. Because we used minimally invasive surgery, recovery time and swelling is minimal.
